Sawubona! (which means hello in Zulu)
We made it to Betsy and Eugene’s house in South Africa! It’s 8:20 am right now and we were woken by the sunshine streaming in our window. It was the most beautiful morning outside, which I think will be representative of our weeks to come!
Fortunately, we are already adjusted to the time zone! We had a layover in Dubai and got some sleep after going to the Burj Khalifah (the tallest building in the world) and the Dubai mall. Then we flew down to Durban and made the 2 and half our drive out here with Betsy and Eugene. They gave us the two hour run down on South Africa and the area we’ll be in.
We slept well and excited to start exploring and meeting people today. Betsy will take us to an orphanage and then to the village where we’ll meet our Zulu family and move in with them today (we slept at Betsy’s house last night).
Just letting you know we’re alive! I don’t know the next time we’ll be able to email so don’t hold your breath.
